Cyber Hunter system requirements for playing on Android

Cyber Hunter, the futuristic looking multiplayer battle royal by NetEase Games is no doubt easy on the eye, but with that comes some taxing requirements for the device it is to run on. Below details the android system requirements for the full version of Cyber Hunter as well as the Lite version.

Cyber Hunter (Full version) minimum system requirements

To play Cyber Hunter smoothly on an Android device, the device must meet the following specifications:

  1. It must be running Android Jelly Bean or higher (Minimum Android 4.3)
  2. Must have minimum 1.5Gig of available of space
  3. Requires a minimum of 2G of RAM
  4. Requires OpenGL ES 3.0 or later (Which is likely the case for most phones)

If your system falls short of these specifications, it may struggle to execute the load required by the game. The download size for Cyber Hunter is currently just under 100 MB of data. Once extracted, it will require over 1 GB of space for the uncompressed files and other files generated why playing the game.

Though a device with enough storage may be able to launch the game, if it lacks in RAM (internal memory) the experience will be laggy and glitchy at best. Given that this is a competitive multiplayer game, this will give opponents an unfair advantage.

In that case, it is recommended that players use instead the LITE version of Cyber Hunter which is specifically designed for such purpose.

Cyber Hunter Lite system requirement

The minimum system requirement for Cyber Hunter Lite is as follows:

  1. Minimum 512MB of RAM
  2. Android Jelly Bean or higher (Android 4.3)
  3. Minimum 1.2GB of available space

The Lite version of Cyber Hunter is essentially supposed to run on just about any device. The Lite version is packaged to run on devices with less 2G of RAM and limited storage space. The lite version is half the size of the full version.

Players can use the same account used to play the full version to play the lite version. For best performance however, it best to run the game on a device with minimum of 1 Gig of RAM.

To test things out, we tried running Cyber Hunter Lite on a very old entry level android tablet running Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). The tablet had 32 GB of total space (9 GB of free space). 1 Gig of RAM (Only 250MB free).

The entire installation process took about 25 minutes. The device is notoriously known to run slow due to very low processing power. Android did display some error messages during the installation, saying that the game had stopped working. But that did not prevent the installation from completing successfully. Setting up, choosing a gamer ID and choosing a character went surprisingly smooth.

The download file for Cyber Hunter lite is about 98MB. After the installation, setup and update, the game took up at total of 1.19 GB of space. The gameplay experience was surprisingly good. Did not see any drop in frame rates throughout the matches played.

As long as the device has a minimum of 256 MB of free RAM, the game seems to run fairly well.
